Spring In An English Country Garden


Pioneering snowdrops March their
wagons through the dreary days.
To the promised land of April,
on, on by hedgerow’s secret ways.

The thrush, the thrush, he sings, he sings.
The Spring. The Spring is on its way.
A chaffinch trills his courting song,
and blackbird joins the roundelay
